Lateral partnership moves are very common in the legal industry. And yet, they are very rarely handled well. Often, the transition can be taxing for the partner, their clients, the new law firm, and the business as a whole. The intention is to create new business and increased success and the logistics of the integration can often negatively impact that intention. In fact, this difficult transition is a common reason that partners often opt not to move firms. No new partner should be impacted by the logistics of a partnership integration, but rather, should be focused on their business continuing to run smoothly with their existing clients in their new firm.

I act as a liaison, advocate and personal COO for the incoming partner. I have handled countless lateral partnership acquisitions.
